Sea Turtles

Akumal means "Place of the Turtle" in Mayan and for good reason; two endangered species of sea turtles, the loggerhead (Caretta caretta) and green (Chelonia mydas) nest along the beaches of the Riviera Maya, Mexico - making it one of the best places to snorkel or dive with these wonderful creatures.
